Concurrent Rehabilitation Using City Compost

Concurrent Rehabilitation Using City Compost

Topic: Sustainability / Canada

Our partnership with the MRC de la Vallée-de-l’Or (MRCVO) is the key to successfully implementing this initiative, which uses compost, wastewater treatment outputs, and other organic materials produced by the city to regenerate soil at the tailings site. Not only does this integrative project help generate value for the MRCVO, but it enables us to responsibly and proactively manage our tailings-related impacts by boosting regrowth of vegetation and promoting local biodiversity health, long before closure.
