Eldorado Gold's Independent Geotechnical Review Board Site Visits

In March 2025, Eldorado Gold's newly formed Independent Geotechnical Review Board (IGRB) conducted site visits to our operations at Efemçukuru, Kışladağ, Olympias, as well as our Skouries Project. This initiative is a significant step in supporting Eldorado's key pillars of Operational & Project Excellence and Health, Safety, and Sustainability.

IGRBs are not common in the mining industry, typically found only in larger companies with extensive in-house geotechnical teams. Eldorado's decision to implement this Board underscores our commitment to adopting best practices and driving innovation.

The IGRB, composed of external geotechnical experts, was tasked to be a qualified partner and trusted advisor to our mines’ geotechnical teams, as well as ensuring that all our mines and development projects adhere to international best practices. The Board's visits included comprehensive site tours, safety inductions and detailed geotechnical presentations.

A few of the typical things that the IGRB looks at are:

• Our procedures for capturing all relevant geotechnical information from drill core
• How ground support systems are designed for safe and efficient operation
• How we execute the bolt installation and how we test the bolt function
• How we observe situation and events on the individual headings to ensure that we take proper action

After each 2.5-day visit, the Board held closeout meetings with local management teams to relay observations and recommendations. A formal report will be prepared and sent to the mine teams and Executive team.

Niklas Frank, Senior Vice President of Operations, who was instrumental in setting up the framework for the board, shared his thoughts: "It was encouraging to see the evidence that our mines are already implementing robust geotechnical practices. The discussions with experts from different parts of the world provided valuable insights and highlighted opportunities for improvement, and sharing best practices among our sites will foster continuous learning and improvement.”
